Only a week ago, Daniela bought boat for the project! It is a 15ft Boston Whaler and she drove it here all the way from...Boston. Danny and the boat arrived late Tuesday night before the volunteers arrived and we put it in the water on Thursday. Around noon, we fired up the engine and motored up Elkhorn Slough for an otter census.
My best lesson from the day was that I need to purchase polarized sun glasses so I can see the shallow bottom of the upper slough.
